I was initially painting a smaller piece with just the razorbill when I looked up and saw this shag had shoved his way onto the ledge - so I squeezed him into the painting as well. I like how his shadow links the two together.
Charcoal, gouache and crayon.
Half imperial (38x56cm) smooth watercolour paper.
